Resurface or Rebuild? How to Decide
If your deck looks tired, you may not need a full rebuild. Here's how the condition of the frame decides the answer.

Many decks with worn-out boards still sit on a perfectly good frame. In that case, resurfacing can deliver a new look for less.
Inspect the frame
A professional checks joists, beams, footings and the ledger connection to the house. Soft wood, rot or failing connections point toward a rebuild.
Consider the layout
If you're happy with the size and shape, resurfacing makes sense. If you want a bigger or different deck, rebuilding gives you a clean slate.
Ask for both options
A good proposal can price both approaches so you can compare them side by side.
